Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School’s Project ISAAC took a field trip to the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College’ Wednesday, February 27th. Dr. Robert Quarles, Director of Multicultural Programs and Services, presented to the students. He discussed the importance of all people having equal access in their lives. Students took a look at the court case Brown v. Board of Education and created a poster with all of the words they could think of that show that B-UMS is a loving and accepting place. After enjoying a picnic by the fountain, students then went to the planetarium on campus and explored the stars! Dr. Delaney, professor of astronomy, led the presentation. Students learned about the constellations and the stories of how they came to be. They also “traveled” to different planets and watched a short video about the elements. The students had a great time and learned a lot in the process.
