Soldier Care Christmas Boxes

Items to fill 10 boxes were requested.
Items that filled 50 boxes were received.
After repacking...and re-giving things like cans of green beans, corn, fruit, etc. to the Parish House (THANKS!, Mrs. Dean for taking care of those boxes)...

A TOTAL of 43 boxes of comfort items was packed, labeled, "customed"...and mailed to TASK FORCE: NO SLACK soldiers in Afghanistan on Saturday morning.

It took 2 hours to process those boxes. TOTAL WEIGHT: 431 POUNDS!

AND...as a result of my postings, some of the pics were featured on Channel 5's piece about "Holiday Random Acts of Kindness" yesterday evening.

THANKS AGAIN to those who gave, to those who helped with the EXTRA postage...(Which, by the way REALLY helped, when it turned out Friday afternoon, that the "Promised" postage for the original 10 boxes...had been turned down. When a call was made to remind them of their Promise, they told me "NO".) But, we had enough!

THIS has probably been the BEST and most EMOTIONAL events in all the years that I've coordinated OPERATION: Soldier Care (since 1991).

The efforts and enthusiasm of the children has restored my faith that not ALL of today's children are self-centered.

GOD will BLESS them! GOD BLESS YOU! GOD BLESS AMERICA! GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!
