Sustainable Urban Development Project

Students in Ms. Murphy's science class are working on a  sustainable urban development project.  This project involves learning (and relearning) tried and true agricultural techniques, combining new technology and science with methods which were used by our ancestors for thousands of years.  Students will be learning how to start slowly integrating renewable energy and sustainable architecture and infrastructure into a rapidly growing society for sound economic, social, and environmental benefits.  Over the coming weeks, students will be taking what they learn about these topics to develop and refine their end projects, which should be very interesting!  They must think about the best ways for their town design and location to integrate more sustainable avenues for their town's future.
