Tickets are now on sale for our very own Theatre Club’s dinner theatre production of “Too Many Detectives at the Murder Mansion” by Ian McWethy!
This production has truly been a school-wide effort. The production includes 45 dedicated and talented student actors, techies, and directors from grades 6 to 9; will showcase numerous art submissions from students all across the school; and feature a delicious homemade dinner and dessert from our FACS classrooms!
Performances are November 14th and 15th at 7pm! Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased in the main office during school hours until November 10th.

Mrs. Smith’s 8th Grade science classes wrapped up their ecology unit with an exciting hands-on project! 🌿🦌Students created detailed food webs based on their chosen biomes, showing all the feeding relationships within their ecosystems. Amazing work, scientists in the making! 🌎

Our students have already logged an incredible 2,561.5 miles this semester — that’s far enough to take us all the way from Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School to San Francisco, California! 🎉
Our top 7th-grade runners this month are:
🥇 Collin Holley – 23.35 miles
🥈 Hudson Riffle – 20.85 miles
🥉 Hunter Swisher – 19.55 miles

B-UMS families-friendly reminder tomorrow-Friday October 10, 2025 is picture day!
Our students recently completed a hand sewing project focused on creating custom potholders — and the results were absolutely amazing! This project is a hands-on opportunity to build essential life skills. Throughout the process, students practiced:
Time Management: Planning their work and staying on task to meet deadlines.
Communication: Collaborating with peers, asking questions, and sharing techniques.
Following Directions: Carefully executing each step to ensure quality and safety.
Each potholder is a reflection of their creativity, patience, and growing confidence in hand sewing. We’re so proud of their hard work and the beautiful, functional pieces they produced!

Our Student Council and SOS program teamed up to decorate one of the Main Street light poles for October — and let’s just say, it’s a must-see! The theme? A Buccaneer-inspired Scarecrow “What’s Your Goal?” complete with little pumpkins holding signs of their goals. 🧡
Now, here’s the twist… we thought the scarecrow’s head was going to be a pumpkin. Spoiler alert: it’s not. And honestly? It’s hilariously perfect! 😂
You’ll find it right in front of the courthouse. There’s a tote next to the straw bales with a whiteboard and markers — write down your goal and snap a pic with Captain Leput Sparrow herself!

Congratulations to our B-UMS Volleyball Team for winning the Neil & Esther Messenger Volleyball Tournament @ RCB! After 13+ hours, and some very tough competition, the Lady BUCS go home champions! 🏐🏆🥇
B-UMS Boys Basketball and siblings participated in The Parish House Hunger Walk Saturday Morning before practice. We had so many and they gave generously to the community! So proud of these kids!
