We need your help. If your student took their iPad home Thursday, please ensure that it is charged for school Monday morning. Students that were schedule to test on Friday, 5.2.25 will now test on Monday 5.5.25. 8th grade students are on schedule to begin their testing on Monday as originally planned. May the Fourth be with us all for testing season! :-)
Our talented young musicians have once again showcased their exceptional skills! Last weekend, eight of our standout middle school musicians represented us at Glenville State University’s 15th Annual Honor Band Event. Competing against top musicians from across the state, they excelled in their auditions and earned impressive placements in Glenville’s bands.

These students dedicated their Friday and Saturday to rehearsals and delivered two remarkable performances on Saturday afternoon. We are immensely proud of their courage to audition and their commitment to pursuing educational opportunities beyond our school. Congratulations to all!

This week at B-UMS the Agriculture Career Class had a guest presenter from our local Extension Office. Mrs. Brittany ran the 6th graders through the incubation process and set up our classroom incubator with 10 chicken eggs.

❗️B-UMS Sports Reminder❗️You are able to schedule your 2025-2026 sports physical starting MAY 1! You will need these for any summer practices or flex days. Please contact Community Care at school to set up an appointment. Please do not wait until the last week of school to do this! You can also get a sports physical at any doctor's office. For copies of the physical, please go to the main office or see Coach Mouser. They are also copies on the B-UMS website under 'Athletics.'
Our B-UMS theater club has been working hard in the production of Shakespeare's A Mid Summer Nights Dream. You have the opportunity to see it twice on April 25th and 26th. We would also like to thank the support of The Foundation for Better Schools, as a partner in helping to fund this project! Thank you!
***UPDATE 4.14.25** The yearbook sales website is currently not working. Due to this yearbook sales are extended thru 4.16.25 and can be ordered in person at the school. Send your student to school with $36.75 or you can order by visiting the school office. Checks can be made out to Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School with "yearbook" in the memo. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Our B-UMS band participated in the Region VIII ratings Saturday, showcasing a grade 2 and a grade 3 piece, and achieved the highest rating of Superior!!!

🏀 B-UMS March Madness Bracket Competition Recap! 🏀
Mr. Fitzwater, 7th Grade Wellness Instructor, hosted this year’s March Madness Bracket Challenge brought the heat with over 90 student brackets submitted!
After weeks of buzzer beaters and bracket-busting upsets, we have our champions:

🥉 3rd Place: Ella Massie- 7th Grade
We loved seeing so many students engaged—stopping by to check standings, talk strategy, and celebrate their favorite teams throughout the day. Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun!
